The Beginning

Our love story kicked off in June 2020, a time when the world felt uncertain, but one thing was sure – our connection. We met on Match, where Casey's insistence on seeing a photo of me smiling with teeth was both quirky and endearing. It was clear from the start that humor and honesty would be the cornerstones of our relationship.

Our First Date

Our first date was unconventional and perfect, reflecting the times. We opted for takeout Mexican food and margaritas on the couch, making the best of a world paused by Covid. The simplicity of the evening, filled with laughter and shared stories, was the perfect start to our journey together.

Early Adventures

Our second date took an unexpected turn when Casey got a flat tire on the way to see me. In a twist that would define our ability to tackle anything together, I ended up changing the flat. It was in these early days, working from home together and navigating life's little challenges, that we decided to move in together in the Fall of 2020.

Travel and Family

Our shared love for travel and adventure first took us to Evan’s cabin, this trip marked the beginning of our travel adventures. We now have traveled from San Antonio, TX to Miami, FL throughout our years together. In April 2021, our family grew to four with the adoption of Archer, joining us and Burt in our adventures. That year, our love for live music flourished at Jingle Ball 2021, a passion that filled the summer of 2022 with concerts and new friendships.

The Proposal

On September 24, 2022, Casey planned the perfect proposal at our favorite spot in Coconut Grove, Monty’s, along the dock with the sunset painting the sky. Unbeknownst to me, our dinner was rushed by our friends Hannah and Meghan to ensure we caught the sunset – making for the perfect backdrop to a beautiful proposal.

Building Our Life Together

As we moved into 2023, we found our favorite local haunt, The W Tavern, a place where we continue to make friends and memories. That summer, Evan got pretty good at being a nurse for Casey’s endless injuries. By fall, we began the exciting search for our wedding venue, ready to start the next chapter of our lives together.

As we prepare to say "I do," we're reminded of all the moments, both big and small, that have brought us here. Our story is a testament to love, resilience, and the joy of finding your person in the most unexpected circumstances.
